Today at Tom Wahl’s, Mayor Hayes stated “Tom, on behalf of the entire Village of Avon, it’s truly an honor to recognize you on your 95th birthday.
What you built here is so much more than a restaurant. Tom Wahl’s has been a gathering place, a first job for so many of our young people, and a cornerstone of what makes Avon feel like home.
Through your hard work, your values, and the way you treated people, you’ve left a lasting mark on this community—one that spans generations.
It’s my privilege, as Mayor, to present this proclamation declaring April 1st as ‘Tom Wahl Day’ in the Village of Avon.
Thank you—for everything you’ve given to this community, and for the example you’ve set for all of us.”
