The Festival, held every year on the second Saturday in August, draws thousands of people from our region to see friends, browse arts and crafts, listen to a wide range of music on two live stages, play games, eat lots of festival food, enjoy a locally brewed craft beer at our Beer Garden, participate in our annual corn eating contest and enjoy the day. We typically host over 135 craft vendors and 25 food vendors. Proceeds from the Festival are used to support many local, state, national and international service organizations and causes, including the Boy Scouts, the Avon Food Pantry, Teresa House, Linking Hands for Learning, Shelter Box, Honor Flight, the Genesee Valley Rotary Camp, Rotary International Youth Exchange, and the Rotary Foundation. The Avon Rotary Club would like to thank our sponsors, advertisers, vendors, and volunteers. Without your participation and support, the Festival would not be possible.

Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic Available for Livingston County Pet Owners
Livingston County residents can have their dogs, cats, and ferrets vaccinated against rabies for free on Wed., April 22nd, from 5-7 p.m. at 4 Corners Campus, 4277 Avon-Caledonia Rd. (corner of River Road and Route 5).
Pre-registration is required for all participants. You can register at www.livingstoncounty.us/932/Rabies-Clinics
Pets must be at least three months old to receive the vaccine. Ferrets must be vaccinated yearly. Cats and ferrets are required to arrive in a carrier and dogs must be leashed at all times. Anyone vaccinating more than five pets at one time should call the Department of Health at 585-243-7280.
By law, all domestic cats, dogs and ferrets must be vaccinated against the rabies virus. Health Department officials say failure to vaccinate pets can lead to a significant fine for the owner and leaves the animal vulnerable to a fatal disease.
For information on other Livingston County clinics, along with location information, registration links, and more, visit the Livingston County Department of Health’s website at https://www.livingstoncountyny.gov/932/Rabies-Clinics While the clinics are free, donations are gladly accepted at each clinic location due to rising costs.
Rabies is a fatal viral infection transmitted through the saliva and nervous tissue of infected animals. In the United States, most human rabies infections come from bats, however, all mammals are susceptible to rabies. Residents with pets or livestock potentially exposed to rabies should visit the Department of Health’s animal bites webpage for guidance at http://www.livingstoncountyny.gov/931/Animal-Bites

Native Clay in the Genesee River Valley presentation
Studio Sales Pottery and studio owner Mike Carroll are pleased to announce the first installment of a multi-part series of programs highlighting the native clay of the Genesee River Valley: from its Indigenous origins to its early colonial uses. This project will continue throughout 2026 with additional programming, including harvesting and processing native clay, creating a body of original work, and firing the work on site at Studio Sales Pottery.
The programming will begin with a two-part lecture on the historical uses of the region’s clay:
Renowned Onondaga artist and potter Peter B. Jones will provide an overview of Indigenous clay use, including traditional Haudenosaunee pit-firing and coil-building techniques.
Master Potter at the Genesee Country Village & Museum, Mark Presher, will present on pottery making from the late 18th century through the mid-19th century, with a focus on salt-glazed pottery and the transition into the Industrial Revolution.
This programming is made possible through funding from the Aid to Localities Program via the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts and the New York State Senate.
Please join us for this free event on Sat., Feb. 14th from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Town of Avon, Opera Block, 3rd floor, 23 Genesee St., Avon.
