NYS Historic Homeownership Tax Credit Program webinar

The Preservation League of NYS, in partnership with the State Historic Preservation Office, Preservation Studios, and the Landmark Society of Western NY, will be hosting a webinar about the NYS Historic Homeownership Tax Credit Program on Wednesday, September 24th at 5:30 p.m.

There are a few different ways you can use the National Register nomination for the Avon Village Historic District (https://www.villageofavonny.gov/s/AvonVillageHD_NRNomination.pdf) to check whether a property is both within the district and contributing—which is what determines eligibility for the NYS Historic Homeownership Tax Credit Program:

  • Resource List (starting on p. 12): This section lists every property in the district and identifies whether it is “contributing” or “non-contributing.” Only those marked as contributing are eligible for the program. The list is organized alphabetically by street name, with even-numbered addresses first, followed by the odd-numbered addresses.

  • District Boundary Map (p. 132): This page gives an overview of the entire district boundary, and shows parcel outlines.

  • Detailed Maps (pp. 133–138): These close-up maps show the boundary in greater detail. Each property is keyed to indicate whether it is contributing or non-contributing.

Using the Resource List along with the maps should allow you to confirm both the location of the property within the district and its contributing status.

Please register at Webinar Registration - Zoom to learn more about the 20% income tax credit available to property owners in eligible National Register Historic Districts for repairs, maintenance, and rehabilitation.
