The Village has had several meetings and discussions with County, State and Federal agencies and elected officials, and are working;

a) in response to immediate weather events;

b) looking at costing and work load of clean-up/recovery; and

c) mitigation, diversion and detention strategies and next steps.

We would like to collect as much footage as we can from anyone, for review and analysis by agencies & experts.

If you have photos or video during these recent floods (unfortunately, now including June 27th), please send with any useful information including address, date/time and observations.

We are already in a declared state of emergency and will continue to update you as quickly as we can on our website and on the Avon, New York, FB page.

Flood Update & State of Emergency

Due to the flooding affecting parts of the Village of Avon, we have officially declared a State of Emergency on behalf of the Village of Avon, effective 7 pm June 18, 2025. I have confirmed with Town of Avon that they have done the same.

This declaration allows us to better coordinate emergency response efforts and access critical resources from county and state agencies.

What Residents Should Know:

Please avoid flooded areas and do not attempt to drive through standing water.

Public works crews are working around the clock to assess damage and clear debris.

Emergency services are available — if you are in immediate danger, call 911.

We will continue to post updates here as the situation evolves.
